Audioslave -
Audioslave

Audioslave is Rage Against The Machine with Chris Cornell form Sound Garden on vox.  I'll tell ya, this
kicks some serious ass.  I was skeptical at first, since I felt that Rage's power, might not meld all that
well with Cornell's soaring voice.  Listening to Auidoslave though, it would seem like they were made
for each other.  Most of you have heard the song Cochise by now.  The reason they picked that as the
single, is because it is the most rocked out track on the CD.  There are other heavy tracks also, but
to a large degree the music is in the vein of Sound Garden / alternative metal.  Some of it is very sweet
sounding, and Tom Morello's guitar work is fantastic as usual. The best thing about this, is that
the odious Marxist political views expressed in Rage's music are absent here. This makes the music
more accessible and more along the lines of what rock is supposed to be.  Rock is music to listen to
and groove, to get your blood flowing, heart pumping and head buzzing. Not to discuss the merits
of failed political ideals such as communism, socialism, Marxism etc...  This is an outstanding effort.
You can tell they took their time with it.  My favorite track is What You Are for the breakdown riff, vocals
and crazy ass guitar solo.
