Boy Sets Fire - Live For Today - CD ep

Stylistically Live For Today shows elements of both hardcore and what could be called Alternative Rock.  Also is a good sprinkling of post hardcore as well.  The vocals are a strong point here, clear and strong. Equal parts rockin' and melody, but never lightweight.  The guitars are crunchy and mean, the bass has that twangy old school hardcore sound and the drums are kickin' There are six songs on this, three new ones and three live.  The live tracks all sound great, a good live recording and the live energy of the band translates well onto the recording.  The live tracks reflect earlier material and are a bit more in the vein of new school hardcore / emo giving you a chance to hear other sides of Boy Sets Fire.  This is excellent, modern music and if Wind Up hadn't sent this to me, I would have eventually bought it anyway.
