Demo Submissions

ATTN:  I do plan signing more bands in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

OK First let me tell you what I am looking for:

Stylistically:  

First Choice:  Metal, Hardcore, Punk,

Second Choice:  Ska, Oi, and Alternative.

Third Choice:  I will consider Rap, Folk, Emo or any other genre.

Politically:  

-Racist bands / lyrics are unacceptable. 

-I don't agree with or believe in Marxism, Communism, Socialism or any other
form of collectivism.  So if your lyrics or image are of that bent, fine.  I will support
your band if I sign you, but I will not support, condone, push or agree publicly
with your politics.  Know that I support the capitalist system
and our American culture / way of life completely.
If you can't deal with that, send your demo to
one of the hypocrites raking in the mega-bucks peddling lefty punk,
while claiming capitalism is the world's downfall.  Got it? Good.

Geographically: 

Preferably:   New Jersey, Philly, or New York City, but I will consider
bands from anywhere. 

To be honest though, you would have to be really good to get me to sign you if you're from somewhere
besides the NJ/NY/PA/CT metro area.

Status: 

You must be a working band.  Meaning you are actively playing shows,
practicing and writing new material. You have a following or have the potential to
generate a following.  You must be willing to tour until the tires on your van wear out!
This is very important.

Attitude:  

You must be open to some direction and not its "the band's way or the highway."

You must no have a disrespectful "rock star" stance towards your fans. 

If your idea of a good live show is one where crowd members catch a beat down from your
crew, don't bother sending me your demo.

Legal / substance abuse:  

Have no legal problems that would interfere with your ability to tour such as
parole, probation or bail stipulations that keep you from traveling. 

No drug or alcohol problems that would affect  the band's progress.  

Your problems with your man/woman are your own.  You must be free of
relationship issues that will hold your band back from touring.

OK now that that's out of the way!

I want bands that have a "real" sound, which despite their genre,
has a certain heaviness to the music.  Meaning that when I listen to your music
it affects my mood with whatever you're trying to get across in the songs; anger, energy,
hate, pain, rejection, happiness, longing, peace, love whatever!  I just need to "feel" the music.

Of course if you have good production on your demo tracks, it will be easier for me to appreciate your sound.
If it is done on your mom's boom box, it might be hard for me to figure out where you're at.
I do not care how you look, that stuff is all relative. 

If you already have a release ready to go, recorded, mastered and with artwork I am much more
likely to sign you. Why? Because it makes my life easier and cheaper to put put your music.


Only these formats are acceptable for demos:

-CD

-MP3 can be emailed to me at fact0@msn.com for an initial listen,
but you are better off just sending a disk, because I'll ask for one anyway.

-A link to your Myspace.com page is acceptable as well, but see MP3 above.

I will call you or email you and let you know if I'm interested.  If you sent something in the past and I didn't
contact you, I apologize. I'm trying to be better about that now.
