I was puking up half a bottle of Tequila ha ha ha! It actually made me laugh in
between drunken heaves... You know, when you're drinking
with a hot chick and she says "there's no more stuff left to make Margaritas, we
just got tequila," don't try to show off and say
"well then bring out the bottle baby!" Ugh, what a night. Ha ha ha Anyway,
Livin' Like Shit starts with a banjo intro which sets the stage for the rest
of
The Power Of Beef. Kind of crazy white trash hick metal if you ask me. Songs
titles range from Bone Orchard and Swamp Creature to 12 Gauge
Kiss.
Sense a theme here? My favorites are of course Livin' Like Shit and also
Pistolero Sleep. The Power of Beef packs a wallop like a cowboy boot to the
head,
with a powerful hard rock/metal sound. Good driving music too. This is the kind
of music you can throw on and then do 110 mph in your new Cadillac CTS while
driving on the NJ Turnpike, on the way to see aforementioned hot chick. Oh yhea!
The Power Of Beef, ah ah I can feel it! Ha ha ha This CD rawks. Oh yhea, Danny
Carey from Tool plays drums in this band as well.

The Spades - Learnin The Hard Way Not To Fuck With The Spades
More good stuff from GoKart Records. The Spades! The Spades are a
bunch of rockers from Holland. Lots of satire in The Spades music, from the name
(the members of the Spades are black) to their chosen names of Son Of A Cop,
Denvis Wankalot, Barry Black, Enus and of course; Dick Spade!
Their bio states that they met in prison. Hmmmm could be! They look like a bunch
of rough characters for sure... The main influence here I would have to
say is the mighty Motorhead. The Spades play metal/punk in the old school
style. Vocals are sort of punky... the riffs, bluesy and distorted.
Lots of energy on this CD also. Lyrics are about sex, violence, drinking and
other topics relevant to the edgy side of life. Good CD here -
and the name? Learnin The Hard Way not To Fuck With The Spades? Cool.
